VIMA ADVISES ST. CROIX RESIDENTS OF HOUSE TO HOUSE COLLECTION SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS

 

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises residents in Estates Herman Hill, Catherine’s Rest and Peter’s Rest that Bates Trucking will provide house-to house collection of their household waste on March 18, 2021 instead of March 19, 2021.

VIRGIN ISLANDS WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY TO CLOSE GREAT CRUZ BAY BIN SITE

 

(St. John) February 26, 2021 - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises residents on St. John who utilize the residential bin site located at Great Cruz Bay that this site will be permanently closed effective March 15, 2021. Area residents are encouraged to dispose of their household trash at the Pine Peace bin location where an additional 20 yard bin will be  placed to accommodate this change.

TRAFFIC DIVERTED IN FRENCHTOWN FOR SEWER LINE REPAIR

 

(St. Thomas) December 10, 2020 -The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the public that sewer line repairs are ongoing to replace 15 feet of damaged lines in Frenchtown on St. Thomas.  Work began Thursday, December 10 and is expected to be completed by or before Sunday, December 13.  

Traffic will be reduced to one lane from the Twisted Cork Restaurant to the Oceana Restaurant while the repairs are being completed.  Motorists approaching the area are asked to slow down, proceed with caution and obey the instructions of the road crew.

(US Virgin Islands) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community of hours of operation for solid waste facilities and administrative offices in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday on Monday, January 18, 2021.

VIMA ANNOUNCES CHANGE IN SCRAP METAL WASTE DISPOSAL SCHEDULE

 

(St. Croix, USVI) – 12/03/2020 The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the St. Croix community that effective immediately, scrap metal will only be accepted at the Anguilla Landfill Monday through Saturday.  There will be no scrap metal disposal on Sundays. 

Residents, including towing companies, are reminded that vehicles must be drained of all fluids and the battery and tires must be removed prior to disposal at the landfill. Please follow the instructions of the landfill staff and dispose of metals in the designated area only. Disposal of mixed waste is strictly prohibited.
