CONCORDIA BIN SITE REOPENS

 

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that the Concordia bin site has reopened. The site was temporarily closed due to a fire on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

 

VIWMA would like to thank the Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) and the Department of Public Works (DPW) for successfully containing and extinguishing the fire.

VIWMA ANNOUNCES TRANSFER DAY AND EASTER HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

 

(Virgin Islands) -April 6 2022 - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community of the hours of operation for VIWMA's Landfills, Transfer Stations (TS), Convenience Centers (CC) and administrative offices in observance of Easter holidays are as follows:

Additionally, due to the Good Friday holiday, St. Croix residents residing in Estates Herman Hill, Catherine’s Rest, Peter's Rest, Cane Garden, Rosegate, Humbug, Veteran’s Land and Tamarind are advised that the regular Friday pickup will be changed to Thursday, April 14, 2022.

VIWMA ANNOUNCES TRANSER DAY SCHEDULE

 

(Virgin Islands) March 30, 2022 – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that in observance of the Transfer Day Holiday on Thursday, March 31, 2022, all administrative offices will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Friday, April 1, 2022.

 

All Landfills, Transfer Stations, and Convenience Centers will operate on normal hours.

VIWMA/RCAP SOLUTIONS INC. ILLEGAL DUMPING TRAINING

 

March 11, 2022 - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA), in conjunction with RCAP Solutions Inc., invites the community to participate in a free informational training to raise awareness on illegal dumping and its effects on the USVI. The presentation aims to increase public awareness and provide proper alternatives to empower the community and reduce illegal dumping behaviors.
