VIWMA  ANNOUNCES UPDATED BOVONI LANDFILL SCRAP METAL SECTION OPERATING SCHEDULE

(ST. THOMAS, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team advises the community and solid waste haulers that the section of the Scrap Metal yard that collects and stores vehicles will be closed on Sundays.

Vehicles will only be accepted at the Scrap Metal section during the hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm Monday thru Saturdays. Vehicles cannot be accepted outside of these hours. Vehicles that are left outside of these hours and placed on the landfill road pose a safety hazard as they obstruct
passage and reduce traffic to one lane.

This change would allow the Authority to gain better control of the road and provide a safer environment for our staff, large trucks, and other customers that utilize the landfill.

The VIWMA Preserving Paradise Team continues to work diligently to provide reliable services and would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation.
