VIWMA TEAM EXPEDITIOUSLY RESTORES SERVICE TO CANCRYN PUMP STATION

 

(St. Thomas, VI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team advises the community that service to the Cancryn Pump Station has been restored and remains in operation.


Residents and businesses are reminded to refrain from pouring liquid grease and various personal products down the drain. These items can and do impact operations at the Authority’s pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities.

VIWMA CANCRYN PUMP STATION TEMPORARILY OFFLINE

 

(St. Thomas, VI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team advises the community that the Cancryn Pump Station is temporarily offline due to mechanical failure. The Authority’s contract partners and staff are working to repair and place the pump station back online.


Updates on changes that may affect public health and the environment will be provided.


Residents and businesses are asked to refrain from pouring liquid grease and various personal products down the drain. These items can and do impact operations at the Authority’s pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities.

VIWMA  TEAM RESPONDS TO BLOCKED SEWER LINE

 

(St. Thomas, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA or Authority) Preserving Paradise team and contractors are working diligently to address a blocked sewer line in the wooded area between Brookman Road and Price Mart. Sewage is currently being bi-passed in the Estate Nadir gut system.


The Authority advises residents to avoid standing water in the impacted gut system and surrounding area.

VIWMA  TEAM ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY OFFICE LOCATION AND NEW CONTACT NUMBER

 

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise Team advises the community of its temporary Gallows Bay (in the old Patalidis building) office location. The office houses VIWMA’s Compliance Management and Environmental Enforcement, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology and Payroll divisions. Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
