VIWMA ADVISES RESIDENTS OF COLLECTION DELAYS AT ST. THOMAS BIN SITES
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises residents of collection delays at the following bin sites on St. Thomas, which may result in an accumulation of waste at these locations:
- Caret Bay
· Black Point
· Cancryn
· Solberg
· Raphune Hill
· Havensight
· Nazareth
· Crown Mountain
VIWMA is actively working to address the situation and restore normal collection services as soon as possible. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to use the Bovoni Landfill or Mandahl Convenience Center for household waste disposal during the following operating hours:
Bovoni Landfill
· Monday–Saturday: 6 a.m.–4 p.m.
· Sunday: 6 a.m.–2 p.m.
Mandahl Convenience Center
· Monday–Saturday: 6 a.m.–8 p.m. (Temporarily Extended Hours)
· Sunday: 6 a.m.–4 p.m.
The extended hours at Mandahl Convenience Center are intended to provide residents with additional disposal options while collection delays are being addressed. Residents are reminded to avoid leaving waste outside designated bins and to exercise caution around areas where waste has accumulated.
We understand the inconvenience these delays may cause and appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as we work to resolve the issue. We remain committed to keeping the public informed and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
