VIWMA ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BOVONI LANDFILL

(St. Thomas, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the public that the Bovoni Landfill will be temporarily closed for approximately two hours due to unexpected mechanical issues. The closure is effective immediately, and normal operations are expected to resume at 2:00 p.m.

We are addressing the issue to restore operations as quickly and safely as possible. The Authority will continue to provide updates should conditions change.

VIWMA remains committed to delivering reliable waste management services and appreciates the community’s patience, cooperation, and understanding during this brief interruption.
