VIWMA ADVISES COMMUNITY OF CANCRYN PUMP STATION FORCE MAIN REPAIR

(St. Thomas, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises the community that VIWMA employees and contractors are presently making repairs to a force main break that occurred at the Cancryn pump station at approximately 7:15 am, Friday, October 23, 2020. The pump station has been taken offline while repairs are being completed.

Motorists traveling west to east in the vicinity of Gottlieb Gas Station and Banco Popular are asked to traverse the area with caution or consider the use of alternate routes as sewage overflow will occur and traffic may be reduced to one lane. Residents are asked to avoid standing water in the area.

The VIWMA staff and contractors continue to work diligently to complete the repairs and thank the community for their cooperation and patience.
