(St. Thomas, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (“VIWMA” or “Authority”) Preserving Paradise team announces the Mandahl Convenience Center will be closed on Wednesday, September 2 for scheduled maintenance. The facility will reopen on at 6 am Thursday, September 3 until 4 pm.
We apologize for any inconvenience this one-day closure may cause.
Please be reminded, the Authority remains on an abbreviated schedule for solid waste disposal due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Landfills, convenience centers and the transfer station hours of operations have been adjusted to minimize contact between our staff and the public, to reduce the possibility of community spread. The adjusted hours are:
• Anguilla Landfill, St. Croix 6:00 am to - 2:30 pm
• Bovoni Landfill, St. Thomas 6:00 am to - 2:30 pm
• Susannaberg Transfer Station, St. John - 7:00 am to 2:30 pm
• Peter’s Rest Convenience Center, St. Croix - 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
• Mandahl Convenience Center, St. Thomas - 6:00 am to 4:00 pm
