VIWMA ANGUILLA LANDFILL RESUMES OPERATIONS FOLLOWING TS LAURA

(US Virgin Islands) August 23, 2020 - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA or “Authority”) Preserving Paradise team advises the community and solid waste haulers that the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix has resumed regular operations as of Monday, August 24, 2020.  Haulers are asked to exercise caution at the landfill and follow the instructions of landfill personnel.

 

Both the Susannaberg Transfer Station on St. John and the St. Thomas Bovoni Landfill are operating normally following the passage of Tropical Storm Laura. 

 

Please be reminded, the Authority remains on an abbreviated schedule for solid waste disposal due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Landfills, convenience centers and the transfer station hours of operations have been adjusted to minimize contact between our staff and the public, to reduce the possibility of community spread.  The adjusted hours are:
