ANGUILLA LANDFILL RESUMES OPERATION

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team advises the community and solid waste haulers of the reopening and resumption of operations at the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix.

The landfill was closed at approximately 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 and reopened at 4p.m. the same day.  Closure was attributed to inclement weather that affected the road conditions in the municipal waste dumping area.

The VIWMA Preserving Paradise team thanks the community for helping us put safety first; the safety of our employees and contractors is our first priority!  The Authority continues to work diligently to provide service to the public.

You are invited to call our hot line at 844-WMA-USVI (844-962-8784) if you spot any illegal dumping! Dumping of used tires from commercial establishments is a big problem in our territory.
