ANGUILLA LANDFILL REMAINS CLOSED

(St. Croix, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (‘VIWMA” or “Authority”) Preserving Paradise team advises the community that the St. Croix Anguilla Landfill remains closed to the public on Thursday, January 09, 2020, due to continued fire suppression activities at the site.

 

Solid waste haulers are advised that municipal solid waste shall be received sat the landfill from public bin sites and house to house collections only.  Drivers are asked to follow directions provided by VIWMA personnel and contractors. Failure to comply shall result in temporary suspension of disposal privileges, safety is of utmost importance.  

 

The Authority will inform the public when we resume normal operations. We will continue to provide updates as the situation changes.  Residents with respiratory disorders/conditions should take precautions to minimize their exposure to smoke as wind directions change.
