VIWMA TEAM RESTORES SERVICE TO LBJ PUMP STATION

(ST. CROIX, USVI) - The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) Preserving Paradise team reminds the community that on Thursday, April 05, 2018 at approximately 10:00am, the LBJ Pump Station went off-line due to a damaged component in the Motor Control Center (MCC). Although intermittent bypasses were experienced, the pump station returned to service on Friday, April 6, 2018 after corrective actions were taken.

The Authority continues to work diligently to provide reliability of operation at the pump station and advises residents with compromised immune systems to avoid standing water in the vicinity of King and Queen Cross Streets. Additionally, the motoring public is asked to traverse with caution in the vicinity of #1 King Cross Street (the back of the Government Parking Lot); motorists are advised to use alternate routes to avoid the potentially impacted area.

The VIWMA Preserving Paradise team apologizes for the inconvenience and would like to thank the community for their patience and cooperation.
